History of SB Steppers
In August 2008, Aaron Brown was asked to show a couple of ladies some line dances. Aaron arranged for the class to meet at Brooklyn's Lounge on Greenwood Road. Shreveport, Louisiana. Afterwards Aaron started teaching classes on Wednesdays only. Due to the high demand and increasing number of students, a Thursday class was added. The classes practiced very strong for 4 1/2 years. From those classes several other classes were started at the following facilities: Southern Hills Metro Park on Saturday mornings, Josh's Lounge on Tuesday nights, and Bill Cockrell Metro Park on Tuesday evenings.
In June, 2013, Brooklyn's Lounge closed its doors and the class moved to Time Out on Mansfield Road for approximately 2 months. It was at this time that several students decided that we should become an official organization so that we could place Shreveport-Bossier on the map as a place to come to dance. Afterwards, another door opened and classes moved to Southern Soul Lounge on 1605 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana continuing Wednesday and Thursday night classes.
Shreveport-Bossier (SB) Steppers were officially established July 27, 2013. We enjoy dancing and the camaraderie that dancing brings each class session and wherever we are invited. We dance and enjoy dancing with all groups.
I would like to say thank you for visiting our S B Steppers website. It is an honor to be able to dance with the S B Steppers who I also consider as family.
